Always known as one of the top bass fishing destinations in Texas, Toledo Bend Reservoir (Toledo Bend Lake) is a 185,000-acre lake on the texas-Louisiana border east of San Augustine. This 65-mile long lake with 1,200 miles of shoreline offers a host of fishing opportunities for a wide variety of fish species. Catfish, hybrid striped bass, crappie, white bass, gar, bluegill and a variety of other sunfish all call Toledo Bend home.

Considered one of the best bass tournament lakes in the country, this lake continues to turn out big bass. Boat ramps, marinas, lodging, campgrounds, RV parks, bait stores, restaurants and other amenities are available all around the lake - in both Texas and Louisiana. While fishing from shore, a fishing license is required from that state. While fishing from a boat, a license from either state is valid.

Cover consists primarily of standing timber, boat docks and hydrilla plus a variety of aquatic vegetation. Fishing for catfish, crappie and bass is good year round, with spring the best time to catch larger stringers. White bass fishing peaks in spring, while summer and fall are prime time for stripers and hybrid striped bass. Spring, summer and fall produce sunfish in good numbers.

Located in the southwest corner of the lake, in Sandy Branch, at the south end of the Texas State Highway 87 Bridge, this is a three-lane, concrete ramp with a dock and paved parking.
