Bass, catfish, crappie, white bass, sunfish, gar and bowfin also roam these waters in impressive numbers. Schools of baitfish tend to get followed by hybrid stripers, white bass and black bass. So when the bait moves shallow in spring and fall you will know where to locate the fish. In summer and winter these fish follow the bait to deeper water for comfort. When the bass are shallow look for them in the aquatic vegetation, boat docks and brush. When they are deeper, good places to fish include points, humps, ledges and creek channels. Crappie will be around brush and any vertical pilings or timber. Catfish will be in, or close to creek or river channels and can be caught year round. Boat launch ramps are available at marinas and parks around the lake, and facilitate launching of pleasure boats, pontoons, ski boats, bass boats and a wide variety of other fishing boats.
